The Rest
The Rest is a Nairobi sanctuary and residency programme for displaced visual artists. Its identity frames rest as an active condition—space for recovery, reflection and the return of creative momentum—rather than an absence of work.

A pause with intention
The mark begins with an inverted eighth-note rest. Read as a musical pause and as a body at rest, it gives the programme a compact symbol for stopping, gathering strength and beginning again.

Frames for safety and expression
A modular family of squares and rectangles creates structure without closing the work down. The frames behave as windows, rooms and protective containers across posters, social communication, objects and documentation.
